May 8th marks VE Day—Victory in Europe Day—a pivotal moment in British history when the guns fell silent across Europe in 1945. Today, 80 years on, we at Vivyd 3D Prints pause to reflect, honour, and remember the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of a generation that gave everything for freedom.

As a family-run business rooted in British values, we feel deeply connected to this moment in time. It’s more than just a date—it’s a reminder of what matters: resilience, community, and unity in the face of adversity.

A Nation’s Moment of Triumph and Tribute

On 8 May 1945, the UK joined Allied nations in celebrating the end of World War II in Europe. Cities and villages alike erupted in joyous celebration—people danced in the streets, flags waved high, and a weary nation took its first breath of peace.

But even amidst the joy, the losses were never forgotten. More than 450,000 British and Commonwealth lives were lost. Their bravery remains etched in our national memory.

At Vivyd, we believe remembering those who came before us is part of our duty—and our identity.

Our Small Tribute at Vivyd

We may be a 3D printing business, but at our heart, Vivyd is about craftsmanship, storytelling, and legacy. That’s why on VE Day, we stop to remember. Whether it’s through displaying the Union Jack on our website, sharing stories with our children, or creating custom keepsakes for remembrance events, we make time to honour this moment.

How You Can Join In

Whether you’re attending a local service, hosting a 1940s-themed street party, or simply observing a two-minute silence at 3pm on Thursday, VE Day offers us all a chance to reflect. Here are a few ideas for marking the day:

  • Display the Union Jack at your window or doorstep

  • Play wartime classics like Vera Lynn or Glenn Miller

  • Raise a glass “to those who gave so much”

  • Talk to family members about your own wartime connections

  • Share photos or tributes using #VEDayUK

From Our Family to Yours

As a father-son business built on shared values, Vivyd is proud to remember VE Day not just as a moment in history, but as a lasting symbol of what can be achieved when people stand together. In an ever-changing world, the spirit of VE Day continues to inspire everything we do—community, creativity, and connection.

Today, we honour the past. Tomorrow, we keep building the future—together.

Lest We Forget.

8 May – VE Day
With gratitude,
Vivyd 3D Prints
